Welcome to All That Glitters Is....Jonathan Rhys Meyers Bio page! If you don't already know all about this man then your just a loser plain and simple, but at least your on the right path. All this info is public and doesn't belong to anyone but the man himself. If you think something I have on here is not correct or not updated then ....what the hell!?! DOB: 20 July 1977.

Birth Place: Dublin Ireland. Then he moved to County Cork with his family where he grew up.(he now lives in a tiny village called Buttevant in Cork) Jonathan now declares himself working class (and dresses in only second hand gear). He lives on a dairy farm in Buttevant, Cork with a hippish local farmer called Christopher Croffs (who is 57 years old and has a family of his own). Jonathan became Christopher's legal ward and went on a life altering trip to Egypt with him. The two have a strong friendship, and Jonathan still resides with Christopher and his family.

Family & Career: The eldest of four brothers, Jamie, Paul and Allen (one of his brothers even has a child, Dylan, which makes Jonathan an uncle) Jonathan says his childhood was unstable and he was in an orphanage for a time. When his dad (who was/is a musician, lives in Jersey) left his mother when Jonathan was 3 years old. He says that he had his first "real" conversation with his Father at 19, and that his 2 younger brothers never really lived with him in the same house.

Jonathan has been interviewed to say...."When I was a little boy I needed a lot of love, and my mother and my father loved me very much, probably more than I could ever fathom. But it was a time when they were young and they didn't have themselves totally figured out and I couldn't always feel their love.... And as it turned out, having an unhappy childhood fueled me to do my job when the time came."

He was kicked out of school when he was 15 (this is also around the time he met Christopher Croffs) and busted for driving without a license. He said he just was a delinquent, hanging around arcades and pool halls at a place called The Vic in Cork (where he got his break and subsequently landed the lead role of Finbar in "The Disappearance of Finbar Flynn").

Jonathan was in there playing pool one day when these people from Warner Bros. came in. They were casting a film called The War Of The Buttons, and asked him if he would liked to audition, so he did, and they him brought to see the director. Jonathan says he didn't get the part because ..."I looked older than the rest of the boys they were casting." Jonathan says when he lost the part he was crushed and felt incredibly rejected. Jonathan auditioned and auditioned for about a year and a half without getting any parts, until finally landing his first acting gig for a Knorr's Soup commercial. The next gig was working with Albert Finney and Rufus Sewell in "A Man of No Importance" and finally then the lead role in Finbar.

Hobbies: Jonny is a lover of Traditional Irish Folk music (He is also a talented musician and singer of traditional Irish folk music) and considers all popular music Shite! (with the exception of American folksters Ben harper and Elliot Smith) Jonathan loves to play the guitar, Riding horses He was given a Piebell pony called "Prince of Bel" by some of his friends (which include 60's star Donovan, for his 21st b-day) He also loves watching sunsets. He obviously smokes! He seems to love all things jingly jangley and eastern.

Facts to know: When Jonathan was born he was kept in hospital for seven months because of heart complications. He also doesn't like to drink alcohol too much, just an occasional moonshine. He just prefers to drink tea and coca cola. He also has been said to subscribe to the Ewan Mcgregor school of acting. You wanna see his Dick? NO problem! He doesn't have a problem with nudity or his body in general. He has also said to have had his first sexual experience at the age four with the girl next door. He has also said he would like to write a rough draft to Asia.

What I love about him: Jonathan is antiauthority, unconventional, and all embracing! (or so it seems). He also says that when he kissed Ewan in VG he got 100% into it and said it was wonderful Jonny is very open minded to human nature and he thinks every thought a human has is not wrong (Like; homosexuality, murder, heterosexuality, asexuality)

Stats: Now for the moment, he is two months (time  may vary as this info ages like fine wine) into a relationship with an Irish student called Chacha (her real name is Charlotte). Jonathan claims if he sees a girl he fancies in a bar he walks out. So what did he look for in girlfriends? He says: 'I don't.' I don't look for a certain quality at all."  

He was seeing Muriel's Wedding/and Velvet Goldmine star Toni Colette. Jonathan says he fancied her from the first meeting in VG and After much flirtation the two mauled each other one month into filming. Jonny says he was very excited that this beautiful woman was going to play his wife. He said he was going out with her for 11 months and was very much in love with her.He says he still is but its hard to be with someone. They split up because they were living in different countries and 'bickering a lot'. And she was six years older, which he felt was a problem. He has also said that he hopes to end up marrying her someday. But he says ......."I suppose she'll always be my wife in here [*touches his heart*] and I'll always be in love with her."

Stats Extra!: A tip to all the homely girls! Jonny has also said he fancies us all! And that to catch his heart you don't have to be the most beautiful girl in the world! Whew! That puts half of his fans on the list! Not me though, I just want to screw him on days that end with "Y." Heehee. :-P NOTE I think Jonny and Toni are so cute together! I hope they work it out and get married cuz she is beautiful and a great actress and they are two of a kind! Meant for eachother. (They are apparently broken up for good it seems  now that Chacha is in the picture, but who knows :-/ )
